The band rehearsed for six weeks before playing their first show on July 6th 1976, as an opening act for the Sex Pistols at London’s 100 Club. The Damned quickly earned a reputation asa viable act on the circuit. Although The Damned have had a turbulent history, there is no doubt that their music and attitude still prevail with all the energy of that original 1976 line-up, and their back catalogue of 8 studio albums have endured the test of time… and what’s more, they’ve outlasted most of their 70’s punk contemporaries! The current line-up is David Vanian on vocals, Captain Sensible on guitar and vocals, Pinch on drums, Monty Oxymoron on keys and Stu West on bass.
